How does the Pertronix Ignition compare to other Distributors?
We have used several other manufacturer ignition systems - Accel, MSD, Mallory ect and have found the Pertronix to meet and often exceed these. Often with other ignitions there needs to be changes made so they can be compatible. IE - Replacing the cast drive gear to a Steel gear, substituting the centrifugal advance springs for a street car, additional wiring is needed.
Is a separate electronic Box needed to run the Pertronix Distributor?
No that's what we like about them. It's often a misconception that additional hotter spark is needed. The Pertronix distributor will accept a separate box if preferred to hook up but More than enough spark is delivered for a complete combustion.
