Roller Rocker Replacement / Adjustment procedure

- Loosen the Rocker Studs and place the New Rocker and pushrod in place without securing down. The middle of the roller tip should be aligned with the middle of the valve Stem. The pushrod should be centered between the Guide plate. Hold the guide plate in position while removing the Rocker.
- While holding the aligned position torque each stud down to 45lbs. with a torque wrench.
- Place the New Rocker in place and bring each cylinder up to Top dead center. (Both intake and exhaust are closed and camshaft is at it’s base lobe)
- Begin to adjust. Tighten down the Rockers to zero lash (just when you feel some drag on the pushrod) and then go an additional 1 full (360 degrees) and lock into position. There should show sufficient clearance between the Lifter Plunger Clip and Pushrod. When tightening down a Poly lock Nut do not overtorque, you could wind up breaking the lock. Do this for each cylinder.
- Use plenty of Lubricant on the Rockers for Initial Startup
This is a general procedure for adjusting an OHV engine, some exceptions may apply
